Senior Licensed Structural Engineer Position Summary Provides design and engineering decision-making function for the design of structural steel supporting structures for conveyor systems, equipment, service platforms, pit steel, access walkways, stairs, and miscellaneous steel. Works closely with Systems/Layout Engineer, Project Engineer, and Field personnel.

Duties & Responsibilities Receive design input from engineering personnel. Review customer specifications and standards for incorporation into design. Obtain written approval for any deviations taken from specifications and document the deviation in the Project Engineer's job file.

Seeks design input/validation from a Professional Engineer when appropriate. Complete structural layout drawings for systems and closely coordinate layouts with systems layout engineering personnel and project engineer to assure the most efficient use of steel and equipment Assure that work is accurate and complete and that carrier clearance lines are maintained in all locations. Assure that customer and CAD standards are followed.

Assure appropriate application of dimensions. Produce clear and precise drawings that are easy to read and efficiently utilize paper. Plan, schedule and release components for fabrication, under the supervision of the project engineer, to meet installation schedule and avoid the purchase of excess steel, bolts, and components.

Utilize obsolete inventory when possible and limit over-buying of materials Conform to ISO requirements. Travel to the job site to inspect field conditions, existing steel and assist with installation. Travel may last for extended time periods.

Demonstrate the ability to work professionally as a team player and willingness to assist others. Regular and predictable attendance. May require working extended hours, weekends and/or holidays.

Perform other duties and projects as assigned or that become necessary to fulfill the company's responsibilities and needs with respect to its business. Qualification Requirements Technical or BS degree or equivalent work experience in the industry to support design responsibility. Prior experience as structural drafter is desirable.

Must have technical comprehension skills to read and understand requirements from specifications, drawings, instructions, and other design input information. Must have a practical understanding of the conveyor system layout process and common methods of supporting. Must have an understanding of architectural and building construction and erection practices.

Must be capable of working independently. Good interpersonal communication skills working with engineering personnel, shop and field
